Ford Issues Regional Safety Recall for Certain 2012-16 Model Year Ford & Lincoln Vehicles To Replace Side Door Latches

Ford Motor Company issued a regional safety recall in North America for approximately 830,000 vehicles sold or ever registered in certain states to replace side door latches. Affected models include:
- 2013–2015 Ford C-MAX
- 2013–2015 Ford Escape
- 2012–2015 Ford Focus
- 2015 Ford Mustang
- 2015 Lincoln MKC
- 2014–2016 Ford Transit Connect
What Is the Problem?
In the affected vehicles, the pawl spring tab in the side door latch may break, which can make the door difficult to close or allow it to open while driving. Dealers replace the side door latches at no cost to the owner.
